Cnnection failed. The IRC server did not respond. PLEASE HELP

I keep getting this message. It is a Center Print right in the middle of playing in a game so it has to be fixed.

"Connection failed. The IRC did not respond"

Anyone ? PLEASE HELP!

    Please, post what shows up in the console when that error pops-up.

    Pretty sure it means the T2 IRC server cant connect since it doesnt work anymore. atleast thats what someone told me the other day :p

    Check the "Disconnect From IRC While In-Game" box in the settings.

    I was having this problem too. Man oh man did it piss me off. I'd be in the middle of a disc duel and I'd lose controll of the client while that pop-up appeared.

    It turns out MacAffee is blocking it.

    Go to your virus scan console.
    Right click on Access Protection
    Click Properties
    Highlight 8th from the top: "Prevent IRC communication"
    Press "Edit" button
    In the "Processes to Exclude" box add: Tribes2.exe
