Never h Never heard of improving the ai by switching to real time. Any chance you could explain? I'm intrigued.

Wait... are you running Windows 8 (The Developer Build) or Windows 7? Just to help clear things up, if you have Windows 8: Try running the executable in compatibility mode. I don't know if M$ changed anything that might interfere with the game loading/launching

I would just vote to not stir the pot... I would let it go and run it's course (bad one or not)

Hopefully we can alleviate your problems, did you do the instructions here: http://www.tribesnext.com/forum/index.php/topic,470.0.html

That .vl2 is missing it's terrain files (.ter) which is why there is no ground. Odd..... you'd think they would be in there.. Try looking around the other map files for the .ter files (I'm to lazy right now)

Do you have Windows Firewall on? Add a program exception for Tribes2.exe
-
Good to see you got the problem fixed! Was going to suggest that it was another script, but someone beat me to it! Now go kill some 'derms for me.

Linkz plz so I can seez....

The targeting laser in the bomber can be used just like when a scout goes into the enemy territory and 'paints' a target for mortar lazing.

A lot of formatting within T2 involves a TAB character, so that might be what's missing. Also note that if you place any images into the loadscreen the client MUST have the image for it to display. It does not act like a 'webpage' where it will fetch the images for the client.

The console popping up is normal. Try creating a shortcut to your "Tribes2.exe" file and adding '-online' as a parameter in the shortcut

Hmm... are you checking the base folder for the .cs/.cs.dso and also the mod folder (if you're running one). Also, did you delete the .vl2 (if there was one)??? Very interesting that you have removed everything and this problem still persists... Also, try typing this into the console in the…

for the lak maps, which ones are they? You might be missing the heightmap files for the terrain... Adding Tricon can add side effects but you will just have to check those out (I personally have never mixed those together)
-
So, just to clarify, you want to know if it's possible to run Tricon 2 and EVO together with the TribesNext patch?

base/prefs/MyConfig.cs
-
Just transfer your base/prefs/ folder (or your [MOD]/prefs/ folder) These files should have all your settings. Some scripts may place their settings in other files, so you have to look around for those. But, that folder has all the basic configs...

Windows search sucks. If you have Win7 try "type:=.dso" or ".dso" with no wildcard in the search box. See if that helps.

Most providers provide a DHCP instead of stiatic IP's when you retrieve an IP address. So, yes, in a way it's possible to change IP's but this doesn't happen too much. You'd have to shut off your internet and reconnect maybe a day or two later to get another IP address (since someone else will probably take your old one…

Take you questions here.

T2 networking code is amazing. It was built for dial-up.

I do have a install package (for a CD) I made, but it includes vanilla software and no extra plugins. (but you can always add them) http://www.tribesnext.com/forum/index.php/topic,1383.0.html

Change your tile size? Should be in a dropdown menu... haven't used the map editor in awhile... EDIT: Looks like this is as small as I could get. (See attachment) This is just a limitation of the Torque Engine. :/

If I believe correctly, the reason why the textures would not load correctly is because they are loaded in alphabetic order. So if your filename came before skins.vl2 (for example, askinmod.vl2) then i would be loaded, then the original textures would be loaded over that. Try putting a z or zz to the front of your filename.
