I had the same problem a while back...think it was related to Flux Chat/Flux Voice. You can read about it and my solution in this thread: http://www.tribesnext.com/forum/index.php/topic,2028.0.html

I can help you with the Tricon shtff :) (I use it to admin my server). You can down load it here: http://www.the-construct.net/b/junk/.
-
After you upload the new file are you deleting all your the .dso files?
-
Changing it to 0 will turn it off, 1 means it is activated and checks for modified textures in each player's game as they join, it will boot them if it finds any. Apparently your player friend has some "customized" textures. Changing it to 0 should not cause any other problems.

Thank you Kryand, and I am supposing that since it is currently set at 1, that it should be 0. Yaaaahhhh! It worked, thanks. :D

Personally, I've never been much of a talker, and all the chat tends to grind on my nerves after a while so I hardly ever jump on TS.

You can get the Construction and Version2 mods from Spinesworld: http://spinesworld.onlinesportsleague.net/

Hmmm...I'd hear rumors of this before but not seen substantiation. Thanks. One question: You said turrets must be on a level surface, I can understand the level horizontal effect. what bearing does level vertical have on turret accuracy? (I.E. a turret set on the exterior vertical wall of a base)
-
Hmmm...Teratos, your post peaked my curiosity and I checked my target line. It is: I thought it would end in something like TribesNext.somethingorother. My game runs fine, and has ever since I downloaded and installed again from the TN download. What are the machinations of this, if you please?

Ditto what robertom2002 said.

Player and Items.

Sounds remarkably similar to how a short in an electrical wire acts.

Yah Greestorm33, my mouse seems to function "okay" I just don't have the software functioning that would permit me to make quick changes pertaining to custom speeds in-game etc. Device Manager even recognizes it as a Logitech MX518, but I don't have any of the software apps. :( I won't be messing with my v.card drivers…
-
For what it's worth, I use a Logitech MX518 and it has never functioned properly with the software. I spent the better part of two days (literally, three hours each day), and several hours of follow-up emails with Logitech support without success. They finally told me they didn't have a clue "but would keep me informed of…

Pro'lly not. Blakhart (the all knowing wizard) however, has given you/us a clue as to a working solution w/o installing Tricon2. Fyi, some server managers have had problems with Tricon2, but I've run it for years without a glitch.
-
This is the line in the TriconPrefs.cs file: $Tricon::BaseRapeModMinPlayers = 8; I'm not sure if it should be modified or if successfully modified where it should be placed unless it would just go in the base\prefs\ServerPrefs.cs file (assuming that tricon is not installed). I am not a coder, so I don't have a clue how to…
-
AAaaahhh...thank you oh wizard!
-
Thanks! Heat Killer :D Oopsies...I assumed a .cs file would be in the base folder, I've looked everywhere in the Tribes game, also did an advanced search and I cannot locate such a file. Where is the file located?
-
Yep!
-
Ditto what Blakhart said. :P

Tricon2 was coded to allow one to run several different mods on the same server.
-
Awesome Qing! I still run Tricon2 on my server. I hope your stuff can be hosted here, it would be the most common ground for current players.

I bought StarSiege Tribes about a year after it was released, can't remember the very first clan I joined but the player who started and ran it was Fox. He became inactive as did the clan and I was recruited by scrub to [TNP]. They were a great bunch of guys and we competed in several different leagues, mostly playing the…

Thanks Phantom.

Thanks for the tips guys, they lead me to the solution. I poked around in the Base folder and finally found this reference to Derm10 in C:\Dynamix\Tribes2\GameData\base\prefs\ClientPrefs.cs: $pref::Player::Voice = "Derm10"; I changed it to "Derm1", deleted the .dso's and I have my voice back. I suspicion that Flux Chat and…
-
Yes, am removing the .dso files. Good thought Heat Killer, and you're right...when I checked the console it said: 'Failed to find wave file: 'voice/Derm10/gbl.hi.wav' I broke out the old T2 CD and copied over the voice.vl2 file to the Base folder, and took at peak at it. There is no Derm10, only 1, 2, and 3. I am thinking…
-
Yah...my thoughts too, I had added the Big Skin file (forgot the exact name), so I removed it, I'm still silent. I'm using the flux voice/chat (removed it and I'm still silent) and a few others that I've used since the beginning so I don't think that is the source of my problem however, if no one has a better solution I'll…

Red Shifter: I think the saying is "That's why there is chocolate and vanilla". I'm sure you will need an explanation: people all don't like the same flavors, or games, or have the same opinions about much of anything. Anyone should be able to see that I'm trying to contribute to the community, not fracture it. In case you…

Thanks for the advice teratos. Btw, I played Classic for years and still do because of its popularity, but once I tried the Version 2 mod I fell in love with it, it's a little faster and in some ways more balanced; I think a lot of players would enjoy it if they would try it. It could never supplant Classic of course, but…
