  • Interesting. Thought all the vl2s had to be in /base folder. So I can seperate the map vl2s out also? Would be nice clean up the base folder and have it organized. I got so much in /base I have no idea what is stock...
  • I think yer record is skipping... :P I've been all through the mission editor and .mis file. Just where is the switch to turn Vertex Lighting off? Maybe a little explaination would be helpful. Like a mini tutorial? Ona's T2 Editor tutorial is really well done, however, I have an issue with how he gets into the editor.…
  • Maybe a look at your .mis file instead of the console output would be helpful. I haven't worked with bot stuff, so I wouldn't know where to start looking.

  • The above pic is me. Yeah, I play paintball. "I'll be your huckleberry." Recently turned 50. Can out shoot, out last and out smacktalk most players on the field. ...and if I don't get ya, my partner will. Been a "gamer" for ages. Started in the late '70s with Avalon Hill board games. Luftwaffe was my favorite. Big into D&D…
  • 350-400 was my normal playing ping rate and frame rate would drop to around 7 fps in the middle of heavy action on a fully populated server. Was like a slide show on my end. When we would scrim on a closed server with 10v10, I didn't lag as much. I actually got worse at aiming when I went to DSL. Go figure. Not to stray…

  • When your wife sez: "You use the word 'fuck' more playing that stupid game than you do having sex with me."
  • It might be a good idea to run a few maps off line to check things out. ...and yes, there are tons of things to remember and do. Too bad the Bozos have to ruin your first experiences with one of the bitchin'est games ever. alt f4, that's a good one. ;D =EDIT= Loads of reading material here: Tribes2Guide
  • A couple of Assault Tank guides => A Poor Man's Guide to the Beowulf Assault Tank The Mushroom's Tankinomicon T2 vehicle info. Where I found this info: UpsetChaps' Guide Loads of other T2 info also.
  • Somewhere I had the complete base set player skins in photoshop format all layered out. Huge set of files. Might have to hookup the old Athlon and check through the HD. Here's another tutorial... http://www.interocitor-media.com/tribes/tutorial.htm
  • Awesome. Seems to be working properly now. All object names are displayed properly and saved correctly. Thanks for the link |AcId-BuRn|. More info to read and absorb.
  • Somethin' funky... I name the object in notepad and save file: Teal color shows the edits. new Turret(DEFENSIVEtwo) { nameTag = "DEFENSIVEtwo"; position = "-304.734 -508.318 151.505"; rotation = "0 0 1 90.5273"; scale = "1 1 1"; dataBlock = "TurretBaseLarge"; lockCount = "0"; homingCount = "0"; initialBarrel =…
  • A couple of [BONG] rippers...
  • MOB RULES! Positions and tasks are standard fare. This is a very dynamic game. Adapting to the map and opposition is key, however, there is saftey in numbers. Our clan worked with the principal that everyone should be able to do any position at any time. I've gone from farming to flag defense, to HO, to flag retrival, back…
  • gee global, that's not much to go on... Did you edit something in the script? Add some other script that breaks the weaponswap one? Change the keybinding? Sherlock Holmes would know, only if he had more clues...
  • EngineersHUDv120 Exept from script description: 5. Version 1.20 adds a "MapHUD toggle" key to your settings/controls list. Set a key here to toggle the map HUD, which will display a miniature commander map in the upper left corner of your screen. Beware: this map will make your CPU and your video card work harder,…
  • Please, elaborate, as I'd like to know (I'm not a scripter) about the different coding practices and how they work or don't work... A simple explaination will surfice. I mean like, does he code while drinking? Doesn't do proper finger push-ups before hitting the keyboard. What? ;D

  • yer link goes to a holding page... A lot can be done with the serverside terrains, however, exellent balanced maps can be made with custom client side terrains. Panama Jack made a map DLer... http://hope.oznet.com/pjBB/viewtopic.php?t=1163&sid=f9acc3f80a212607c10f48270f1c52cd Too bad that's one of the features that Dynamix…
  • Fixed it. Tracked it down by opening the console ("~" key) and watching the info as the map attmped to load. Saw "Syntax Error line 140". Looked at line 140 of the .mis file highlighted in white, with Tribes IDE. new SimGroup(Base0) { powerCount = "3"; new InteriorInstance(Flag Stand) { position = "-337.601 -376.675…
  • BASE RULES! The T1 players got their panties in a wad cuz it is slow and sluggish. Personally, I like base for the above stated reason, does not have such unbalanced features so it needs more skills for every class and position, it needs more teamwork If you do run a base server, use small maps. The T1 Map Pack is good for…
  • Nice presentation, good screens. Game boundries look a little tight, but who stays inbounds anyway? I like the center objective, "into a gigantic killing field for missile turrets". I assume the Sensor starts out netural at the beginning of the game. The Flag FF gens in a 3rd base reminds me a lot of Death Birds Fly. (I…
  • heh. I felt the same way Jamrock, 'cept I didn't shit my pants...
  • "Rat in the Maze" games like the Half Life mod, Day of Defeat, Firearms. Forgot about that Battlefield. Wouldn't run very well on the machine I had when it came out, so I dismissed it. Now that I have a better camputer, I might take a look at Battlefield again. WoW. One of the biggest wastes of my money and time. Spend an…
  • I'd be loads easier to just use your laser range finder and mortar rectiles. Point laser, note range, switch to mortar, adjust elevation, pull trigger. Point and lob. Move to another area, repeat. No fuss, no muss. ...and you can do this anywhere with in range of your target, not just from preset waypoints. It's best to…

  • Tribes and T2 is one of the first large open terrain WAR games. Some of the other and later WAR games were/are too much like a rat in a maze. The other massive games that have come out are social games. There is not much in the way of TEAM cooperation in the social type games. Except when a bunch of higher level cumquats…
