Web page help needed
Hi, all! About 1.5 months ago I posted about how the TN website needed a page with some information about what Tribes 2 is. I decided to try to make such a page myself, and then promptly went AWOL for no apparent reason. Anyhow, I've been really busy lately, but I've finally gotten around to working on it, and I'm wondering if someone who actually knows what they're doing could give me a bit of help.
Here's the page so far (I basically just edited the patch info page a bit): http://www.filefront.com/14274921/What-is-Tribes-2.zip/
Here's the problem: I'd like to put a related screenshot next to each unordered list item. However, uls created with the TN css file (or whatever) seem to "take up" twice the horizontal space they actually need. This has thwarted all my attempts to stick pictures next to them and actually have them look nice. The closest I've come to something decent is creating a 2 column, 3 row table with text in one column and pictures in the other. Unfortunately, the enormous list items crammed everything in the picture column over to the far right side of the screen, leaving a large black space between them and the text. Any suggestions?

Looking at it, but no guarantees (not a graphic design specialist).

Any particular screenshots?

Used your page and several of the desktops from here to make this.
put a teaser video on there maybe? just another idea...
Anyway I like the idea of such a site. A video would definately be advantageous. I also like it that you've choosen pictures with different skins and effects than the original ones. Shows somehow the variety and customization of Tribes2

some of my work for you to look over, This was an intro i made last year to advertise a persistant nwn2 module we made. The mod its self took about 2 years to make and code. We pretty much made our own game and now host it live and the videos did a good job in attracting players to the servers. Im sure we can do the same for tribes 2. I did not do the CGI in that movie (everyone asks ) how ever we do have permission to use it. Im pretty sure i can make something cool for tribes.

peace,
The | Sniper
Yeah, something like that is what I had in mind - thanks!
As for a movie, I was considering linking to (or maybe embedding?) Yavor's Travel. It is very well done and does a pretty good job of showcasing various aspects of the game, like indoor combat, vehicles, and randomly getting struck by lightning (seriously, who wouldn't want to at least try an FPS were you can get struck by lightning?), in addition to the regular outdoor awesomeness. The main downside to it is that it's a bit on the long side (~9 mins). It also doesn't show things like personalized weapon skins. Thoughts on this as a movie choice or other suggestions are welcome. Also, if you'd like to make a movie for the page, The | Sniper, that would be cool (no ts for me, though - I don't have a mic).
edit:Turkeh, I've just taken a look at your page's source code and I'm not exactly sure what you did. It wouldn't really matter except for one thing: Why is it that the last section of each box ("-Use your armor's jetpack and ski ability to soar over the battlefield, dodge enemy fire, and deliver carnage from above.") is now orange instead of the first section ("Exhilarating FPS Action")?
fixed...
Just change the .row strong color in the to whatever you want.
show as many things as possible, capping, retrieving, ho, ld, farming, buying a vehicle, bombing, tanking, a packed havoc, mpb deployment, repairing a vehicle, a couple of midairs, sniping etc.
show the speed of the game, show outdoor, indoor and aircraft combat.
after the viewer has an idea what can be done in the game you could perhaps show some clips on obs mode to show the carnage and how a normal game of 20vs20 looks like, show different maps and situations.
for the music i think the lush theme would work well, it gets you pumped and the ending is perfect to fade in the tn logo. you need something fast and action packed, slow music only works for people who have played the game and feel nostalgic about it.
as for custom skins.. a lot of the skins people use look worse than the originals and i dont think that customizing your game is something that needs to be shown in a trailer for a game, its common sense that pretty much any game can be customized.
if everyone contributed a clip/demo of a role he is good at we could make a pretty good trailer i think.
without the Vengeance thingie of course
Too late :P. Anyways, that doesn't sound very promising and The | Sniper actually volunteered to make the movie. I'll keep it in mind in case he's unable to do it for some reason.
That's why I say you're better off seeking out Hybrid's help and convincing him to work on the project than taking The | Sniper's standing offer.
Couldn't find them...link?
He hasn't responded to my pm yet. If he doesn't do it within a few days, I'll look for other options.
