Why does classic always have storm and inferno?

(forgive me if this isn't the case anymore, I haven't played in a while)

This has always been something that has bugged me for a long, long time. Ever since that last major patch from dynamix that came with the classic game mode. Why did they decide to use "storm" and "inferno" for all team names on classic, instead of leaving it to the classic 4 tribes?

  • Classic wasn't designed by Dynamix, but by players interested in boosting competition play. In competition, the default Tribes matter less. They might as well have made the defaults Team 1 and Team 2.
  • In t1, the server admin sets team names and their standard skins in serverprefs.cs and they take effect on all maps. In t2, setting team names and skins involves spaghetti code of grimace proportions. The zodds may have figured it best to forgo all the hassle and just use the two teams that had skins that were best for all maps. Then again, who knows, mebbe they just like storm and inferno.
  • Storm = Blue, Inferno = orange/brown would have been better for Storm and Blood Eagle
