A word on qos; If you have a router that supports even rudimentary qos (quality of service) you may be able to improve your gaming, especially in a net where there are several users concurrently active such as is the case in the typical home. If there is a qos feature in the router, you can enable it if disabled (wich is…

There's also a hierarchy of packet data in our beloved t2 bitstream, some data is more time sensitive and important according to its purpose than others, the important stuff will be resent if need be untill the gamestate has been brought up to speed at the client, some is discarded as irrelevant due to gamestate time…

F9, you've been trolled/spammed by the bot who responded to your post. However, torque is fun to mess around with.

Bugs_ in t1 developed an hm and dll (there are several t1 dlls about that have various features of hm but are much more stable and less laggy than hm and no they don't work as compiled on t2) anticheat that is serverside only and can't be defeated. It checks to see if a client actually has a player or game object in scope…

Judging from the edit timestamps in the code paste, it may be. If he doesn't chime in just run it and see if the console says something about a syntax eror in line 260 of vehicle.cs.

In t1, the server admin sets team names and their standard skins in serverprefs.cs and they take effect on all maps. In t2, setting team names and skins involves spaghetti code of grimace proportions. The zodds may have figured it best to forgo all the hassle and just use the two teams that had skins that were best for all…

A word on egos and online gaming; There are several online personalities that frequent t2 servers that have anger and ego issues. You know who they are. Most of them will end up with twice or more the score of any normal player every single map - wich should tell all that something is wrong - and will still complain when…

Over the lan or wan? Dedicated or listen server?
-
Yeah with dso mods created prior to tn you're likely fooched.
-
Is dt in the mod? If so can you get rid of it?
-
Are you deleting all dsos between attempts?
-
Are you allowing t2 past the firewall in os and router, as well as antiviral?

A word on innernet warfare; If your innernets is acting slow, your region, or the entire world, may be fighting a cyberwar. To see if you're under attack simply view this page; http://www.akamai.com/html/technology/dataviz1.html Well, it won't tell you if you're under attack specifically, just what countries are…

Yeah no one uses t1 skins in t2. The idea is to have better graphics, not worse, but hey if you want 1998 grafix..... Most ports are t2 to t1, tv to t1, and ta to t1. Few of them work better than the original t1 textures for various reasons but people stil use them. Also there were t2 skin to t1 ports before 1.40.

A word on TV and TA... If you play either of these versions of Tribes you might be interested in some tweak apps to tweak your game a bit. Tweak meaning in this case visual image quality or fps enhancing tweaks. For TV there's the game of course; http://tribesrevengeance.com/ If you already have the game installed you can…

Maybe they're just zip or lzh files?

Think the community patch is included in the tn t2 download.

T2 needs spirit animals. And a race track for mpbs.

If you like the jaggies, ok by me.

Rjay, antialiasing, use it.

A word on router firmware replacements. If you'd like more control over you rooter, or simply to have functions the stock firmware doesn't expose or even have, you might be able to replace that firmware with some that does. Please keep in mind this depends upon if your specific rooter/version is supported by a replacement…

I am guessing it was a evil master server issue. Or a evil t2 server poisoning the master server.
-
Is t2 listed on the do not disturb list for your av? Just a shot in the dark here but something is deleting the sound file and I doubt the os is doing it on its own volition.
-
I wonder if this is a corruption of t2 code or caused by the os, via an update or something else? As it seems system audio works other than in t2 when this happens it makes me think t2 "loses" some code relating to audio.
