  • You know there's a really funny trend I notice with people who post that special olympics picture - everyone who posts it doesn't have the mental capacity to carry on an argument. It's pretty cute - it's like they think they are somehow getting back at all the people smarter than they are by posting a picture that hasn't…

  • Yawn. Arguing with a mentally deficient entitled noob gets quite boring after a while, but I'll own another post I guess. rofl. I play there all the time, and every single time I dominate, so this is just another example of you talking out your ass. Here's yet another example. I realize you have absolute zero knowledge of…

  • No, you're not. Trust me. ::) That's good, since it wouldn't be nearly as true if you said it. I've backed it up hundreds of times. You've just been hiding away in newbie-ville with the rest of the players of your caliber, so you didn't have any clue what was going on elsewhere in T2. Umm, someone suggested "classic vs…

  • Look at the little noob trying to talk trash now, citing random events that he had absolutely no part in as if it makes him somehow not an idiot. It's like some random scrub trying to make fun of Vanguard because they only got 1 cap on 5150 ever. It's more hilarious than it is annoying. This whole argument was started…

  • :D God I love uppity scrubs who think playing for 9 years makes them just as good and knowledgeable as everyone else who's played for 9 years. It's so damn cute. We call guys like you "entitled noobs".

  • Yes since a bunch of newbs vs a classic team would have been so much more relevant than competitive base players vs a classic team. The only time there was ever a base team better than VK was before classic or base++ even existed. And those teams were also made up of people who would rather have been playing classic.

  • Uhh... Viking Kitties. They were on the TWL base ladder for a very long time and destroyed every other team on it. And the reason you never heard of it is because even average base players knew that EWO/HV/MV are all utterly terrible and would not help the base teams win in any way, so telling you would be pointless.

  • You're actually pretty clueless if you don't know who ZProtoss is. In fact, it pretty much proves that you are the one who didn't really play back in the day.
  • There have been many classic vs base games in the past (all on base servers), and the classic teams won effortlessly every time.

  • Well that was probably the dumbest response I've ever gotten. I'm not even sure how to reply, because I'm not even sure you understood the subtext of my last post.

  • You only need to download the 2mb file...
  • Maybe he confused that website with the garbage.
  • Oh my bad I didn't realize you were a competitive player! I bet you've got lots of experience playing for teams like "Lock and Load" and "Soldiers of Chaos". I surely didn't mean to question a competitive player of your caliber! ::)

  • Everything works in a pub if you do it right, especially competitive tactics. Why do you think everyone hated the Vpad guys and accused them of cheating in Goon Haven all the time? It's because they used competitive tactics in the pub and absolutely dominated it every single time.

  • So cute. This thread itself is proof that I am right. ;D

  • Is there anything cuter than non-competitive players trying to talk strategy?

  • I don't have much respect for anyone who still doesn't have the TWL map packs, so fuck them.
  • Shoutcast server IP 67.222.138.14. I think the shoutcaster is currently testing it out, so you can join and listen to make sure everything is working. This thread is also not the best place to get assistance if any problems do come up; try #lastgasp on irc.tribalwar.com The match is scheduled for 10:30 EST, but these…

  • http://t2tv.triben.de/ Brandon is working on setting up a shoutcast server, and GoHeels is preparing to shoutcast. It's been a long time since I've used T2TV, so I don't know exactly what to do after downloading it yet as far as connecting to the shoutcast server, but hopefully it's self-explanatory. We'll post more info…
  • If you do want to use a shrike, consider using it to propel you into a slope rather than the flag stand. Pick any sizable hill that aims you toward the flag stand, fly up high over it in a shrike, then dive toward it and jump out - make sure you aim the shrike down even more as you jump out so it doesn't run into you. If…

  • They are kidding. Cap with disc/cg/grenade, energy pack, flares. There really isn't any other weapon other than those three that are going to be of much use to you. Laser rifle could be an option just because it's a great weapon for killing people. Obviously you aren't going to use it while in the process of capping, but…

  • Both. Grenade launcher is an incredibly overpowered weapon for killing people (more so than the chaingun), but killing fast moving cappers takes a bit more practice. If you practice it and get good at chasing with it, you'll be happy with the results. As far as chaingun, it's pretty much the best weapon in the game for…

  • I have, and most the people I know who quit said that they don't really want to put forth the amount of time it would require to get good at T2. They agree that it looks amazing, but they just don't have to time to get to the point where they can enjoy it at the higher levels at which they see me play it.
  • Back when it first came online it was advertised a lot. Front page TribalWar news, giant Something Awful thread, various mentions on other gaming news sites. Nothing too major, but I'm sure it's a lot more publicity than anyone expected. Mere person-to-person or forum-to-forum advertising isn't going to get us any more…
  • Anything can look cool in YouTube videos. If you play T2, there's no reason to play T:V. It's worse in every way and was a disappointment to everyone, except those who never played either of the first two games to begin with.
  • Server hosting companies charge about $2 per player slot per month. If you're are willing to donate that much, may as well just buy your own. Most people used Branzone in the past, but Art of War and MaxOGC hosts Tribes 2 as well I think.
  • Every community is filled with assholes, and every community has cheats. In fact, most popular games have 50x more of both than Tribes ever has. Anyone saying that either of those things contributed even 1% to the downfall of T2 is an idiot.
  • Nevares and I double-sniped someone out of a top-speed shrike in V2 once. That was amusing. That was only about 150m. I also sniped someone who was speeding away in our team's grav cycle from about 300m while I was skiing down a hill. The first one was a relatively straight shot, but the second was at a perpendicular…
  • It's way too hard for the average gamer. With 90% of the games that are popular, you can be a complete moron and still play them effectively. In T2 you have to be a competent gamer if you want to be able to do anything at all. It also doesn't help that a very large majority of the original T1 fan-base abandoned T2 early on…
