Yes since a bunch of newbs vs a classic team would have been so much more relevant than competitive base players vs a classic team. The only time there was ever a base team better than VK was before classic or base++ even existed. And those teams were also made up of people who would rather have been playing classic.

Uhh... Viking Kitties. They were on the TWL base ladder for a very long time and destroyed every other team on it. And the reason you never heard of it is because even average base players knew that EWO/HV/MV are all utterly terrible and would not help the base teams win in any way, so telling you would be pointless.

Everything works in a pub if you do it right, especially competitive tactics. Why do you think everyone hated the Vpad guys and accused them of cheating in Goon Haven all the time? It's because they used competitive tactics in the pub and absolutely dominated it every single time.

If you do want to use a shrike, consider using it to propel you into a slope rather than the flag stand. I have, and most the people I know who quit said that they don't really want to put forth the amount of time it would require to get good at T2. They agree that it looks amazing, but they just don't have to time to get to the point where they can enjoy it at the higher levels at which they see me play it.

Anything can look cool in YouTube videos. If you play T2, there's no reason to play T:V. It's worse in every way and was a disappointment to everyone, except those who never played either of the first two games to begin with.

Server hosting companies charge about $2 per player slot per month. If you're are willing to donate that much, may as well just buy your own. Most people used Branzone in the past, but Art of War and MaxOGC hosts Tribes 2 as well I think.
