  • People were doing this eight years ago, this is nothing new. The biggest use of the shrike used to be crashing it into the front door of the enemy base.
  • Learn to use the jetpack + spinfusor combo and work on your timing and coordination.
  • Help me out here with the difference between base and classic. Base is how the game came originally, correct? And classic was someones attempt to change it by making my shrike slower so I couldn't outrun missiles and putting a chaingun on the Wildcat. If that's what classic is, then I hate it.
  • The entire system seems overkill to me. Then again my major is not information security.
  • I've noticed that my skill set has improved the last few days I've been playing. Maybe it was my over reliance on vehicles the first time around that made me weak in the aerial combat department. Although we really do need some 24\7 vehicle servers.
  • You might want to hold that thought until the full feature set of T-mail and chat is reenabled. It will make what you want substantially easier. Also, is this a sign that the community is picking back up when people start spamming JOIN MY CLAN?
  • It would be nice. And also I noticed that tonight two out of three of the top servers were locked with passwords. My only other alternative was the above mentioned goons or a 32 player server with 16 bots, no thanks.
  • It doesn't matter anyway. Our userbase is going to grow, not only from retired tribes players coming back but new people who have never played the game before. These other so called authorization systems don't have as much advertisement as TribesNext, with the link being posted on Penny Arcade and every major blog and…
  • It was different when we all had nothing better to do than spend five hours a day playing a video game. Now I'd be lucky if I could play it for thirty minutes.
  • I noticed this late in the game and after many unsuccesful bombing runs, but if the tailgunner on a bomber has the sensor jammer pack he can keep missiles from locking on to the thundersword.
  • You sound like you have some decent strategies and a good amount of in game experience. You should post some of your favorite strategies in the Game Winning Strategies topic, we would all probably learn something : ) [/quote] Honestly a lot of it is common sense. Everybody that plays the game for the first time is…
  • Tip for noobs Don't try to be the hero and fly into the enemy base or even engage the incoming juggernauts right away. You will be destroyed. Remember that there's no shame in staying behind to guard the gens or the flag, plant turrets, mines, or deploy sensors. Some people have a knack for capping the flag at 300kph, and…
  • I remember the first time I played Slapdash. And I watched as people jumped into vehicles, VEHICLES, driving off to battle at far reaches of the map that I could not even imagine. At that time there was nothing like it, no game before or since has done vehicles so well. Then there was the time I watched a noob turn over a…
  • I remember the sign of a full server used to be people standing in line at the vehicle pad like it was the Deparment of Motor Vehicles. From what I've seen it hasn't got to that point yet, there's just not enough people like there used to be. Maybe after the announcement of TribesNext going live is out for a while, some of…
  • Hi. Old school Tribes 2 player here. Me and my brother started with the demo when it first came out, then bought the full game later that christmas. Back then we spent hours taking turns playing, and we had 56K so if it got disconnected when it was your turn you were screwed lol. Crappy rules but that's what you gotta do…
