    There is a product called Gmaxx that is free to use, or was a few years ago. Same guys make 3dStudio Maxx but this is more oriented towards gamers . I'm not sure its still around . A lot of the same functions as its cousin, but , its basically free . I'm not even sure what version of 3dStudio Maxx is out anymore .

    You can try Blender. Some people have had successes exporting DTS shapes from there.
