help me with reticles please

hi i dont know much about the technical side of tribes or how to access all the textures, do funky stuff with the .vl2 files, but i really want to change all my weapon's reticles except mortar/nade launcher to the reticle of the laser rifle. if someone can give me a step by step explanation of how i might do this it would be great.

also ive heard of a mortar reticle that helps you aim mortars, it has a ladder under it to show how high you have to aim to hit targets in the distance, if anyone can help me out on that it would be good

p.s. i'm not coming straight to you guys i've been downloading all these slingscripts and putting them in base folder but they dont activate automatically and how to use them isn't obvious to me so i've been trying to figure it out for 2 hours without making any progress.

You need to make sure you have support.vl2

There is a limit to how many scripts you can have, so pick your favorites.

as to the mortar "ladder", that depends upon the mod the ret was written for, each mod (base, classic, v2, ultra) has a different physics set for the mortar, so the ret may work ok but not be spot on in all servers
