SHAZBOT, you are awesome.
This player, SHAZBOT, I've never seen someone in Goon Haven with as much talent as he has. He drives bombers like a pro. SHAZBOT, you truly do stand out among the players in Goon Haven and it's not your score that stands out, it's the simple fact that you are absolutely amazing.

Best tips for bombing is to get high and go fast. I see too many nublets that think they can make a bombing run by flying low and slow, and they end up being eaten alive by anti air and ground based weaponry.
Get a decent team, pilot, bombadier, and tailgunner with flares\sensor jammer. Make a good bombing run, die, and then do it all over again.
;D

As a tailgunner, I tend to bring a repair pack to make in-flight fixes as we turn around and head back. But I agree about getting a full team--too many pilots take off without waiting for a tailgunner. hen again, more people need to serve as tailgunners!

But yeah, there's a burning need for more tailgunners on the goon server who have half a clue about what they're doing.
Half the time you get someone in light or medium armor, the other half the guy is wearing an energy pack or something else useless, and even the occasional guy who somehow has picked up he should be wearing a sensor jammer still hasn't been told that he actually needs to turn it ON when making the bombing run so it'll cover the entire bomber and not just him.
Not to mention all the ""huh? flares? what are those?" -people, who think a TG's task is just sitting there shootan shrikes or lobbing mortars when there's missiles coming tight on your ass and your bomber shields are out -_-.
I think BeazleJuice is possibly worse though
I'm not trying to tell ya how to play or anything, but in a good bombing squad the bomber will usually bring the repair pack for stop-and-go fix'er up jobs. They're useful for getting the ship fixed up quick in the sky if you're the TG, but more often than not you'll probably be too busy trying to missile or chain shrikes off your tail to bother with repairs. The sensor jammer will be of much more use to your team, throwing off the turrets allowing you to focus more on the shrikes. Plus, it'll save you a lot of flares. More than tripling the number of runs you'll be able to make. Another good tip is to keep an eye on the missiles. Even when locked, they die off eventually. If your pilot knows what he's doing, chances are good that he'll be able to outrun a fair amount of those missiles, so don't toss all your flares on the first couple runs.
I had the chance to TG and bomb with SHAZBOT yesterday. The guy saved my ass while i was capping more than once, also. He had a tank sitting right up next to the enemy base when i lost speed on a flag grab. hopped right in and drove the tank home to make the winning point in the last 30 seconds of the game. It's been a long time since i've had this much fun playing video games.
I thend to use Medium because a) if there happens to be no plane ready I can move around easier to use my missiles for defense and, b) some pilots make the bomber a moving target--it's hard to hop on! In heavy, this can really slow you down.
Im the best tank pilot.
And you cant declare someone as standing out; are you saying everyone else is crap?
As for bombers...
Me and Gigglestick made some good bombing runs b4 the master went down:
we stayed in the same bomber one round and we killed:
11 flag carriers
8 tanks
13 shrikes
37 infantry (killed by me)
6 infantry (killed by ramming)
7 mpbs.
all that without being shot down.
we did repair
I don't think there's anything wrong with TGing as a medium. Heavy is used just because it holds more ammo, and the TG's job is to prolong the pilot and bombers life. That gets hard if you run out of flares or missiles. I sometimes go medium in a pub to jump on as many bombers as I can to see who I like bombing with before I decide to commit to them and bomb with them the rest of the game. Also, it gives you the versatility to take any seat in the bomber, where in a place as chaotic as Goon Haven it's nice to just get off the ground right away.
Heavy armor- You won't be moving, and if you're going to be tailgunning all map, then you'll probably just suicide if your bomber gets killed. The heavy armor allows you to carry more ammunition, and an additional weapon. It's the better choice for a "pure" TG.
Sensor Jammer *or* Ammunition pack. Nine times out of ten, the sensor jammer is the better choice. If the idiots over in the enemy base never repair their turrets, or keep plasma, mortar, or ELF turrets up all the time, the ammunition pack might be more useful. If you don't know, keep the sensor jammer, you should be making regular ammo runs anyways, and you can repair while getting ammo. If you find that the enemy is extremely shrike happy though, ammunition might serve your purposes better.
Hand grenades- This is a no brainer. Flares. On very rare occasions, flash grenades can prove to be useful for shrikes chasing you, but this falls into the same catagory as the ammunition pack. Until you become extremely experienced as a TG, just assume that flares are the better choice. It is, however, a bunch of fun to surprise a shriker with a couple flash nades and watch them crash. It's even more fun to throw a flare at a chasing shrike, and watch a missile team kill it.
Weapons-
These are debatable, but I'll list what I like to take. As a TG, your primary goal is to keep your bomber alive. Everything else is a far second. Your weapon loadout should reflect this. Your weapons will be used almost entirely on chasing shrikes.
Chaingun- The CG is possibly the most effective weapon for getting rid of a tailing shrike. The closer the shrike, the more effective. The problem is that most shrikers know enough to keep their distance, and this is where the missile launcher comes in.
Missile Launcher- Missiles are a bit finnicky. A good shriker will do anything they can to knock your bomber out of the sky, and missiles can pass up the shriker easily when the bomber is moving fast. The best thing to do is to launch a single missile, and immedietely switch to the chaingun or blaster for when the shriker closes in on you to avoid the missile. Usually the missiles serve their purpose in chasing off a shrike that was unable to get up to speed.
Blaster- Some people will disagree, but I feel like the blaster has a strong place in a TG's arsenal. Since it has unlimited ammunition, it's a great last ditch weapon for getting rid of a chasing shrike. It's also a useful way to save CG ammunition when the shrike is closing.
Spinfusor- Again, some people will disagree, but a well placed disc can severely disorient a shriker, and can deal quite a bit of damage to the shrike as well. Plus, we're running very low on alternatives.
Plasma- And once again, some people will disagree. The plasma serves best at closer ranges, so you'll find few opportunities to use it, but it can destroy a shrike rather quickly with some good aim.
Other options opposed to Spinfusor and Plasma- Some people like to pick up an ELF for closing shrikes, but the flight physics are a bit strange, and sometimes you'll end up ELFing your own bomber. The same goes for the shocklance. Now I've seen a TG that shocked several shrikes out of the sky while in the TG seat, but they still managed to hit the bomber on occasion, and this almost always results in a dead bomber. Finally, some TG's like to take a mortar with them to get a few kills or add extra damage. Personally, I find the mortar useless for the TG's primary purpose, and it's hard to get those mortars to land where you want when making a full speed bombing run anyways. The mortar is best left behind IMO.
Plus, a good pilot will come back to base afterwords to pick me up again after i eat the ground.
As for tank drivers... I've been in your tank. I dunno, Squidward and Patrick's tanks are good. There's another driver think his name was Leifis. The three of them will put up a good fight against you.
Should gather all the vehicle specialists, team-stack, and completely dominate a map for shits and giggles.
yea, I even saw him make THREE shrikes collide into each other while chasing him. A true hero.
It's me, I am SHAZBOT
GTFO poser.
I don't think one line "I am SHAZBOT" is going to convince anyone here.
oh yah, and if any shrikers are reading this, when you see your teams bomber, escort that mofo, don't fly off and randomly point farm.
This thread is stupid. Someone start a flame war so I can lock it.
fuck Kryand's Krew! those shit heads keep posting bullshit about V2!
kk lock, but im the best tank driver.
I find your appraisal of SHAZBOT servantile.
