  • Just play and don't worry about it. Use it every day so if it fails you can get it fixed or replaced on their dime.
  • shouldnt admit this but i find it quite funny

  • Hi Read the faq yet?
  • Hi First off, finding out what failed in the faster system would be a good idea. To see if a cpu swap is possible one must see what cpu socket is supported by each motherboard, and if the board supports the speed of cpu you intend on installing. Determine the socket and fsb of each system, and go from there.

  • The issue with t2 is and always has been how the fps drops when there are 50 players on screen firing a thousand projectiles. With all this activity on screen and the rather large amount of terrain to be rendered, coupled with the hi resolutions most lcds run natively at, the most powerfull video card you can obtain is…
  • Well said, Bear. The series/gametype seems to thrive no matter the odds. Here's a more detailed piece on Sierra, pointing out some my errors: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sierra_Entertainment

  • Dynamix wrote Tribes under parent company Sierra, Tribes being a more-or-less side project of Tim Gift and some others at Dynamix, they actually made smaller games and released them just to finance Tribes dev. Then after Tribes was released Sierra fired Dynamix. Many (but not all) of the former Dynamix guys formed Garage…

  • puts on robe and wizard hat....
  • Don't most script packs do this? I only run few select scripts so have no experience with script packs per se, but often see their results in various servers as players exult over their fallen opponents....

  • Hi Laggy! Does the fios modem/rooter not allow you to open ports or assign a dmz? Sorry I've no experience with verizon fios service, just their dsl modems. Wondered where you had gotten to by the way. Also, _never_ tell verizon you are hosting any kind of server.
  • Hi I would set my desktop res to 800x600 and try setting the game up again. Then after I have set my game res I would go and set my desktop back to the natural res of the monitor if lcd. If crt this should make little difference. Also, this may help you in your t2 game experience: [code]// #autoload // #name = cleanDSO //…
  • There are packet size and rate settings in the serverprefs.cs file in each server. They range from around 256 to 400 (data payload bytes) for packet size, and from 10 to 30 packets per second. One adjusts these according to the available bandwidth. T2 servers can play just fine at 10 packets per second and a payload size…
  • Hybrid, weapons and the physics their projectiles emulate is controlled at and by the server according to the ruleset - wich means mod; base, classic, ultra, etc. There are no clientside weapons or physics controls, other than muzzle transform (aiming), fire, and with what weapon. If you open up scripts.vl2 you will see…

  • So there you have it, right off of each games' box. Yes, I have each game in the box, I am that much of a freak. How many of you have even _seen_ a t1 box? We should make a Tribes museum of sorts. Anyway, this is just to compare your current or proposed game systems to what hardware level the game makers were writing…
