Good to know.
-
Never tested this... can someone else confirm this? I'm not at home so I can't quite see if this is true.
-
Looking good!
-
This isn't a support issue. This should be in general discussion.
-
Nothing :) Just wanted to check it for no reason :P
-
Blakhart. You to.
-
Those are limited to the game engine, and since we cannot 'upgrade' the engine without the T2 source it's sad to say that we cannot... Some people have made Hi-Res Skins but they don't really add much.
-
They currently don't work. They will be available in the next patch.
-
They're basically files that modify your game. They can change your HUD, track kills, do custom voices, etc. Some are very useful, awhile some can be considered cheating... but it's all debatable.
-
Make sure you read through the installation walkthrough exactly as stated. It sounds like you installed the game, started T2 up and closed it, then installed the patch. That could have led to problems...
-
Nice to see another T2 website come back alive! :)
-
Google 'lagg alot bots tribes 2' for some better bot support
-
So, just to get this straight. What is the ACTUAL problem you are having? Is it TracerECM, or Osiris? Which one is installed correctly? I'll try and help you the best I can, but I need more specifics.
-
My best guess is that you didn't put the voice pack in the right place. I don't use them so I really cannot provide support per say, but search the forum or see if there is a readme somewhere. THose will be good places to start.
-
Hmm... sounds like someone will need to register it and send you the .store files....
-
I think he's referring to when you put scripts in the /scripts/autoexec/ folder, but I don't think copper20 would have known that... (Where-as any .cs file gets auto executed in this folder, if you are reading this Copper20) Also, if the script comes in a .vl2 file the chance is good that putting it just inside your /base/…

Try goon haven.

Another post about it: Good places to advertise the new tribes2? My two cents: With T2 being so old and the graphics are not so 'up to date' I think it will be hard to get newcomers into this game. Unless there is something we can advertise that will make the game mechanics outshine the graphics... I don't expect a lot of…

ISP is port blocking? I've heard of throttling, but this? I just hope it's something silly than this.
-
Also, a lot of times you will have your router ports configured correctly, but you won't know because you could have forgot to open the ports on your windows firewall. Make sure those are opened too!
-
To open your ports: http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Linksys/WRT55AGv2/Tribes_2.htm And yes, what blakhart said, assign your server to a static ip so that the router will always forward traffic to it. Also, your router probably has an option to assisng a single ip to your server by reserving it in the…

Is there any errors? Are you behind a firewall? Have you followed this thread to solve your problem? We need details in order to help you! :)
-
Just to clarify, you want a dedicated Tribes 2 server or a Tribes: Ascend server (which I don't think is possible)? What mod do you want it running? (Base, Classic?)
-
I believe this is happening because of the way the TribesNext patch is loaded. When TribesNext is loaded, it is loaded from a .dll that has been injected into Tribes2.exe which is what a lot of viruses do to .exe files. This is a false positive. (But, still be careful!) EDIT: Found Thyth's post about it:
-
Long description: Tribes 2 runs the Torque Game engine, which is an engine that employs 'scripts' that developers and community members can write. These script files end in the '.cs' extension. When the game runs and needs to compile, or parse and use, these script files, it generates a .cs.dso file. This file is used to…

This is when you log onto your account, or LOG onto a game?? That has a terrain extension, so it should only be checking for that when you join a game...
-
Hmm.. I wonder if someone could cook up a script for this... weird that this is a problem just now posted (It has to be something with your setup)
-
Check the server status: http://tribes2.turkeh.net/status/ It up? It's probably a problem on your end. Is the registering process giving you any errors?
-
Even if you did pull them, please refer to my first post. Skins are recognized by filename, not content. This is because the server itself set everyone's skins to a bot skin. This is possible within the configuration of the server. I would strongly suggest you download this pack if you want to see everyone in their skin.…

Please see the FAQ If you are one the same network (which in most home setups, this is true), you just need to make sure you have the correct ports open on the server's firewall.
