Update on this. ChocoTaco found that the number appears to increase each time a player connects to the server. I was able to confirm and reproduce this but I don't understand why someone would want this to appear in the public server list. It would be better to have player connection count appear in a log that only admins…

Well, nevermind. The issue came back after a few hours. Back to square one.

I figured it out. It was Tricon2. When staying connected to the server via telnet using Tricon2, it was trying to re-push the server name to the prefs at the same time the server was running. Anyone know where to get the Renegades v2.1b update? I can only seem to find v2.0b. I found a ZIP file labeled v2.1b that contains ren_scripts.vl2. However, this doesn't appear to be any different than the ren_scripts.vl2 that comes included with v2.0b.

There is only a single NIC on the test machines. When we do a vanilla install of Tribes 2 (without the RC2a patch), we are able to run a Renegades server…

The same exact problem occurs with Windows.

Scratchy, I'd be happy to but I think it's more important that we respect Thyth's request and not share accounts at this time. For now, just continue to use the account that you have. I'm sure that Thyth will get the account server back online soon.

Thyth, consider using VMware for the hypervisor and Veeam to handle backups of the VM guests. These are the gold standard products in the VM community nowadays. They also have free editions just like XenServer and KVM.
