  • Lowering the packet rate will allow for more players, but you will likely not have a problem with needing more slots once players get tired of their latency climbing into the stratosphere during larger firefights.
  • Run the game in Open GL. Then run it in Direct X. See what changes.
  • Nice!
  • The issue with HT is that it is virtualizing your single processor to appear as 2 independent CPUs. Unfortunately, register space on the processor itself is very limited on a P4. The CPU cache is also shared, and quite small in size (esp the L1 cache on Intle P4). The P4 had a very deep pipeline that tends to stall if…

Unfortunately, lack of dedicated means we couldn't test the quad core box using set affinity, multiple ethernet IP addresses and ports for online and LAN play. I will say that one -should- be able to reach your own online play…
  • The 7 day thing is a bad idea. You will NOT prevent denial of service attacks by doing this, and even if it did limit DOS, determined enemies have far more potent tools than creating dummy accounts repeatedly. Additionally, just 1.5 years ago, I had a half class C block routed from my house. that is 126 accounts per week.…

I have high hopes for this revival, but since I have people come to my house and spontaneously decide what game to play, this is a deal breaker. Not one of…
  • T2 is a great game. When I originally purchased 5 copies to test for our LAN gaming sop back in 2000, we had issues with login account requirements. Unfortunately, we had to turn our backs on this very fun game. Tribes 1 had been obsessively played from it's debut, and we were really hoping for a similar result with T2. I…
