Dumb Question GUI

Which folder do I need to put the gui file in? I know this is dumb but I miss having my gui.

    .GUI files go in your /gamedata/base/gui/ folder. VL2 files go in your base folder.

    I put the .v12 file in that folder and my GUI still does not work. I dunno whats up with that
