Tribes2.exe is not a valid win32 application.

So I moved and I'm trying to play this on my laptop now. The first time I install it doesn't work. So I redownload the game and try it out before putting the mp patch and it works. After I download the patch, the game doesn't work anymore.

Help!! please.

I don't really understand the faq regarding this issue and how it applies to me, if it does.
