Why no Defend&Destroy?

Ever since I was playing Tribes 2, I have never encountered servers with defend&destroy or siege game styles (that actually had some players even). I think they are cool, why nobody play them?

They've both been played occasionally on GH64. Siege more than D&D.

D&D doesn't work right and is incredibly anti-climatic.

I loved playing siege on the pond but its unfortunate theres not enough playing it now
