Game will not launch
I installed this mod pack: Tribes 2 Content Pack v1.1 — TribesNEXT
Stupidly I installed it over my current setup instead over a fresh Tribes 2 install, although I didn't think my install was modded. I should have just downloaded the zip version instead of the installer.
Launching the game reset my resolution to super small, and my profile was replaced. I copied and pasted my private.store and public.store to get my profile back, logged in, and game crashed, black screen.
So I went to uninstall the whole game, used the Tribes 2 uninstaller in control panel. Instead of doing automatic I went with custom, and so I uninstalled EVERYTHING, including what I think to be registry keys and stuff. I wasn't thinking, I figured uninstall it "scorched earth" style would be no problem, because it'll all be reinstalled anyways.
I reinstall using the files provided on this site, first the game, then the patch. But now my game is fucked. It will not launch. When I use the online shortcut the SierraUp loader opens briefly and says Args: Tribes2.exe -online -mod but then it closes and nothing happens. I try launching the Tribes 2 exe directly and it gives me a warning saying "windows is unable to open this file, restricted access." I'm paraphrasing but it was something like that.
Then I do a computer system restore to a point two days before doing all this. And the game STILL won't launch, although this time launching the Tribes 2 exe directly doesn't give me that warning message. But nothing happens. Classic.Online batch exe doesn't work either, none of them do.
The online shortcut starts in C:\TRIBES~1\GameData but my install directory is C:\Tribes 2\GameData. I changed it to that but still nothing.

Wooooooooooooooooooooooooow, I set the tribes2.exe to run as administrator (thought that was on by default cause I did a system restore, and that's what I had it to before) and it works now LMAO jesus christ I am dumb. However, all my settings are gone, resolution, keybinds, everything. But at least the game launches now. Don't delete this yet, I still gotta mess around and play the game a bit. I don't know if I'm completely out of the water yet.

OK yeah everything seems to work again, yaaaay! This all started because I wanted to adjust the mouse sensitivity of vehicles. That content pack had what I was looking for AND THEN SOME. You can delete this thread, I'll ask further questions in the content pack thread.
