tribesnext and the t2demopatch

During the development of T2TV, a bug was found with demo playback where a lag spike would cause a demo to hang. Roceh released a T2DemoPatch (http://jsut.kabob.ca/demos/2001.demo.utils/T2DemoPatch.zip) to let people correct the problem on locally. It appears that this patch is not included in the tribesnext patch. It probably should be in a future release.

Incidentally, T2TV still works fine, I tested it today.

  • I'm sure we could consider it for RC2... Do you know specifically what was changed or will we have to open it up and have a look? :p
  • the zip file contains a patched tribes2.exe, which you'll have to diff against the 25034 tribes2.exe to find out what changed i guess. (ie no, i don't know what changed, something in the exe)
  • Speaking of wich, is the core scripts.vl2 of the next release the vl2 from the community patch? If not it should be.

Can you put up a download somewhere? The only mirror I know of doesn't work.
  • i only have the linux version of the server, and all the clients. you can get the files here: http://jsut.kabob.ca/demos/2001.t2tv/ (along with a bunch of old t2tv's)
