Hosting T2 Server/Game

I have been trying to set up my old Construction server and have it all set but it will not go global. I have turned off both my AVG and Spybot as well as windows firewall. I checked my ports and I have 1501-1504,15204-15206,15800,27999-29000, which are all of the ports I could find and remember to open.
It does not show up on server listing except in lan, and when I attempt to connect using the "joingame" console command I get a "Timed Out" response.
I had heard to uninstall AVG as well because of conflict, no solution there.

Tricon2 is having a similar issue, my connects are timed out when I connect using my global IP, but are successful with my local IP.

Is anyone else having this issue or have any advice?

My Network is the same as it was years ago with my old server, the only thing different is I have a faster/better computer and running Vista rather than XP. (I have a feeling Vista is the culprit behind all of this)

The thing is I can host a game on Warcraft 3 without trouble, so this has me baffled.

  • What does the server console say?
  • The server console confirms a heartbeat every few minutes, according to the console it is online but when I used the joinserver function in-game I get a timed-out response as I mentioned before. I talked with Krash in-game and hes stumped for the most part as well.
The shortcut reads, "C:\Dynamix\Tribes2\GameData\Tribes2.exe -dedicated -online -mod Construction -nonpure".

Also, a new issue came up, since last night whenever I minimize my game and bring it back up I get an error, I don't remember changing anything but to fix it I uninstalled everything, reinstalled T2 (from CD), installed Quantium Construction as it was before, StructuralInfinity, and the Patch, not so much in that order but you get the idea.
Anyways it is still crashing, this isn't a severe issue for the most part but it does hinder my ability to test my server by changing the files frequently.

From what I recall, I told you exactly what the problem was with your server - you had been running in LAN mode - that it would return a status response every three minutes, and if you told me what it said I could tell you if anything was wrong. If you are receiving a "Heartbeat confirmed." response, the server is on the master list, and is connectable by outside players.
You will need to either push the insert key on your keyboard and input your LAN address, or type "querylanservers($host::port);" into your client console to favourite and join it from within the network.

Also, you really won't need "-online" in a dedicated shortcut. It won't hurt it in any way, but it already assumes online by default.
  • Yea, I fixed the Lan issue and it says heartbeat confirmed, but no one can connect thats the issue, whenever someone tries they get a timed out.
  • The issue is solved, reinstalled everything and must have fixed it.
