"Could not initialize installation. (CRC)"

Just grabbed the full install and the patch and attempted to start playing once again. I go and try and run the installer but that error message immediately pops up: "Could not initialize installation. (CRC)"

I saw the thread on Windows 7 and having the same error occur but thing is, I'm currently running XP and have installed this same installer a few other times previous without an issue.

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? Thanks in advance.

    A cyclic redundancy check error suggests that the installer is corrupted.

    Download it again and try that.

    Try downloading it via torrent to ensure the installer isn't corrupted.

    Re-downloaded and it installed fine, thanks again.

    I am running vista 64. Downloaded it from two different sites and still the same problem.
    Double clicked on the download file and "Could not initialize installation. CRC The parameter is incorrect.
    Please help

    Try downloading it via torrent to ensure the installer isn't corrupted.
