Probably not. I think there are some bot mods that enable bots on a few more maps, or maybe they just improve the AI - I've never really looked into it. Come play with us on Goons, real people are way more fun to play against than bots ;D

Pilotmode 3 allows script-based vehicle y-axis inversion, and also has a bunch of other nice features like sensitivity and FOV adjusting on a per-vehicle basis. It probably requires support.vl2, so grab that too if you don't already have it. Also, here's a nice script that automatically deletes all DSOs whenever you exit…

TA crashes my computer, but from what I've seen I think I'd rather play T2 anyways. The locked classes and limited amount of held weapons seem like they would detract significantly from gameplay. Also, the jetting looks screwy (possibility of aerial direction changes without expending energy, which would make the dodging…

Yeah, Goons is the way to go. There are usually more people playing from like 7-11 EST than there were last night, just in case you were thinking the player count seemed a bit low. The playerbase for this game is pretty tiny, but we're not quite THAT dead. At least, not yet.

Hi, welcome to Tribes! Unfortunately, you can't overdrive here. You've just gotta find routes that get you going the direction you want to instead of flying in from the front, magically twirling around, and going back the way you came :P. However, disc jumping is a ton more useful in this game than rocket jumping seemed in…

O-sniping isn't the most useful position in the world, but it's a decent way to distract the defense and soften up farms and stuff, particularly if you've got other 20 people on your team to play all the other positions that need to be played. I don't usually do it, but I don't mind people who do 'cuz I play ld/lof with a…

Yeah, there is - numpad enter by default. You have to select your loadout before getting on the station. And just an FYI, if you play on a server that actually has real people on it like GoonHaven (most servers are just bots, which are shown in parentheses after the player count), other players will usually answer these…

Hi! I'd just like to take this time to point out that even though I've spent 300+ hours in goons, I can't think of a single specific time any of the real (*cough*baserapeispartofthegamelearntocounterit*cough*) things complained about in this thread have happened to me. Sure, griefing happens, but for me the occurrences…

Hmm...apparently no one remembers. You probably left before I even got here, but welcome back anyways :)

Have you ever heard of/played Allegiance (http://freeallegiance.org/)? It's an older (~2000) free highly tactical space-fighter/rts fusion game with a small but active community (who actually have the source code to the game and constantly work to improve it). It looks really cool, but I've never had the time to learn to…

teratos' system has a way of approximately tracking the number of unique players, so if I'm not mistaken, the ~2220 represents active, unique players (no bots or smurfs here), while the 8383 is the total number of active accounts in the system. Also, that information is for only one server, Goon Haven: the total number of…

Hence the "unlikely." Maybe it would be more accurate if I changed it to "extremely unlikely" :P

I agree that they're nice mice. It's just that it seems like a lot of people (or at least those with G5s) seem to have problems like this one with them.
-
In the unlikely event that someone having a similar issue with their Logitech mouse finds this thread: After discovering that all G5s sold in the US have a three year warranty (I've had mine for ~2.5 years), I e-mailed Logitech. They e-mailed back, asking for information on the bottom of my mouse, a picture of my receipt,…

Hi! I found this on tribaloutpost, and I think it may be what you're looking for (though I haven't tried it). Also, you should try out HUDmanager. It's based off of HUDmover (which I'm assuming is what you're using), but imho is much nicer. Description of the t1look script: "Creates independant, hudMover compatible Compass…

Okay, after running a driver cleaning program recommended by my campus computer services (which actually gave me an Unhandled Exception error the first time I tried to run it, which I thought was hilarious), reinstalling the latest NVIDIA driver, and creating a custom 960*600 resolution for T2, all seems to be working…
-
I don't run in windowed mode, I just mentioned it because that's what I'd have to do to keep the game from being distorted in most available resolutions. I also already tried forcing the resolution in the prefs file. It just changes it to something else. In addition, my new driver seems to be causing me problems - I now…

I tried changing the usb port my mouse was plugged into. No luck. Then again, I only have two options to choose from (silly Apple and their minimalist computer designs...). Thanks for the suggestion though. @ Blakhart: I tried updating my video card driver to see if would solve the issue where the whole game hangs for a…
-
@Blakhart Cool! That's a completely separate problem, but it's actually one that I do have occasionally. So annoying when it happens just as I'm coming in to grab the flag >.< . I'll have to try that fix out. Thanks! As far as the problem with my mouse, that's definitely not it (my mouse in fact turns off - the little…

Video card: NVIDIA GeForce 9400m Driver: I'm not 100% sure this is the right thing, but this is what DxDiag said: "Main driver: nv4_disp.dll Version: 6.14.0011.8575 (English)" Sorry to hear that :(. I've been using my G5 for ~1.5 years and loving every second of it, at least until this problem began earlier this month.…

Miles Fast 2D Positional Audio mode is the only one available, and my speaker configuration is right as far as I can tell. I guess I'll just have to hope Apple releases better drivers eventually. *Sigh*

Couldn't find them...link? He hasn't responded to my pm yet. If he doesn't do it within a few days, I'll look for other options.
-
Too late :P. Anyways, that doesn't sound very promising and The | Sniper actually volunteered to make the movie. I'll keep it in mind in case he's unable to do it for some reason.
-
Okay, I guess I agree about some aspects of Travel not being good for this purpose. It seems a community video project is in order. The | Sniper has offered to volunteer his time and vid-making skills, and darkzigger has some good ideas to get us started, so it looks like we're set. I'll pm The | Sniper and see if we can…
-
Yeah, something like that is what I had in mind - thanks! As for a movie, I was considering linking to (or maybe embedding?) Yavor's Travel. It is very well done and does a pretty good job of showcasing various aspects of the game, like indoor combat, vehicles, and randomly getting struck by lightning (seriously, who…

Yeah, I think I might give this a go, though I really don't know anything about web design at the moment. I'll check back if I ever manage to come up with something decent. Thanks for the link, Love|Hate.
-
I was afraid someone would come up with a response like this. Unfortunately I can't do site design. My hope was that by bringing this up and throwing some ideas around, I might be able to encourage some people with that ability to do something about the problem (not you, I know you're busy). I think even something as…
-
That would be awesome. I'd definitely buy a Tribes 2 hoodie (or T-shirt).

Here's a HUD-less screenshot script in case anyone doesn't have one already. http://www.chaingunned.org/sling/Halides_Scripts/Halsshot_vl2.zip Just unzip and plunk the .vl2 in your base folder.
