'Have played a map or two after the update...it is a shame Legends doesn't get more attention.
-
Thanks Qing! I've been using Tricon to manage my Tribes servers for years and Qfire from time to time. Thank you for all the work you do/did. You have a standing offer from Cygnus ( http://www.tribecygnus.net/index.php ) to host your stuff if ever you need to shut it down again. :)

Blakhart, I just re-read this entire thread for the second time and am impressed once again with the time and effort you have put into this 'body of work'. I have implemented a few of the changes you recommended, and I'm hoping they will prolong the gaming life of my old machine. Thank you very much. :D
-
Thanks for the thorough response lpbbear, you went above and beyond. I hope more Tribers will give legends a try, imo it truly is what a sequel should be and I think the addition of vehicles will bring a few people around. Will it be possible to customize skins?
-
Yah, me too. I wish more people would try the game. I'm sure they'd be like Mikey and like it. :D
-
Thanks for the background. Empty servers...understood; I've been on a CTF server several times now, and have yet to see anyone on any of the servers at all. :(
-
I have been trying to play some T:A...yeah I know....well, tonight I jumped on a West Coast Legends CTF server, geezus!...how come more people don't play this game called Legends? It is so much better than T:A which is being touted as a Tribes sequel; Legends has all the requirements of what it would take and could truly…

I got this message when I tried to download the file: "The file you are trying to access is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later." I particularly like those weapons skins, are they are part of the pack too?
-
Hmmm...if you made a recording first (before you manually created a recording file) a properly located recording folder should have been created in the ~base folder or in the ~Classic folder (whichever mod you made the recording in). I'm thinking now that your problem may be caused by a Tools > Folder Options > View…
-
Hmmm...I think you need to make a recording first for the recording thingy to work properly.
-
Should be in either: Dynamix > Tribes2 > GameData > base > recordings or Dynamix > Tribes2 > GameData > Classic > recordings
-
Thanks for the reference lpbbear. I registered, downloaded Legends and installed it. I like what I see so far. Btw, when I attempted to acknowledge you as the one who referred me, the site didn't know you. I'm guessing it has something to do with upper/lower case because I copied your name from this thread.
-
I see that no one has replied to your question, and it is kinda late for anyone to reply but, the servers are up and running at 7:51 PM EST if that helps you any.
-
Hmmm...I got the same error message a few days ago kittikat, and I have both the TWL mappacks. I didn't recall seeing the map before and wanted to take a look at it and it was on the "second" Goon Haven server (the one with the ip that starts with 174.xxx.xxx). Have you tried joining the other GH server?
-
Aaaahhhh...good tip rbescape. I had tried the deletion of myconfig.cs several times without success, but your suggestion re: an old script motivated me to take the time to go back through the scripts I use. I discovered one that must have a default setting that deactivates the pack when jetting, now my shield pack stays…
-
Thanks for continuing to help me with this Heat Killer. No, I cannot find any .cs or .cs.dso file pertaining to it and yes, I did delete the JumpAndJet.vl2.. I don't have a mod folder other than Classic. I typed your suggested code into the console with no result, i.e. the shield pack still turns off if I use the jet.…
-
Thanks Heat Killer, good tips/solutions; I've looked in the MyConfig.cs files but I don't recognize anything that might pertain to my problem. I installed the registry modifying script and did a search. Although a .dso file was found in the Dynamix/Tribes2/GameData/Classic/support folder and I removed it, it had no effect…
-
I downloaded a .dso remover and activiated it, nothing was found. Does anyone know which folder/file contains the keybinds?
-
Yes, but hadn't tried it nor the Control delete button until you suggested it, but it did not correct my problem. Geeessssh...I may have to do a reinstall... :(
-
Perhaps someone might know which file/folder contains the master code for the keyboard commands for T2? I'm thinking if I were to replace it with a copy from the T2 CD it might repair the problem, what do you think?
-
Good suggestion Killer, but my OS is XP Pro, I tried them anyway...first suggestion didn't work, second did but only found a support .dso, I removed it but it did not resolve my problem.
-
Good question, and that was my thought too: that there must be some sort of script dso lurking somewhere. I can't find any dso's at all, did a Windows search for *.dso and found nothing, is there a more effective way to find them?
-
Thanks Ravin, something positive and ... encouraging about it finally.
-
WOW! Thanks for all the work you do!
-
Thanks Blakhart. I've installed scripts before but nothing "raw" like this. I've looked in the ~scripts/Autoexec folder, but the scripts I'm running have their own folder and name (i.e. -Boots-, jsut, etc.). Where do I put your scripts? Oh, and is there a way to install this on my server? Thanks again. ;D

I don't know what "null voice" is, or what it means to "crash clients" either ... please help me understand what those two terms mean. There is a "$Host::NoNullVoiceSpam = 0;" setting in ServerPrefs.cs on the server, but I don't know what that means or does either. :-\
-
No Blakhart, I don't, but your question causes me to ask if you think the Indexing Service might be a contributing factor (see attached picture)? Btw, anybody know what "Null Voice user" means? (Screen shot attachment in my June 29 post.)
-
Thanks for you reply Heat Killer; good thought and yes the voice.vl2 is unpacked. Two things: 1) interesting that after I changed the ClientPrefs.cs file I could find no evidence of a single .dso anywhere and 2) even though I would change the ~prefs/ClientPrefs.cs/$pref::Player::Voice = "Derm5"; .wav file to ~Derm1, it…
-
Awwwrgeeeesh! Same problem again...no voice but can hear it in player set up, don't know why, made no changes to the game; the solution I used before won't work for me this time. I remove/edit the .wav file but it keeps returning, and I can find no .dso files. I'd appreciate any ideas. This is the console message I get:

Well written, good points Sarge. I must say I think the majority of current T2 players are a good, fair lot; it is the few who "are rude, unhelpful, unwelcoming, cocky, and just overall cheap and selfish" that leave the lasting bad taste in our mouths and memories. I concur that "a little bit of TLC from the current base…
