Yeah that's usually what I do. Start the voice com menu up while turning away and then whip back around and shout "SHAZBOT" while killing the poor fellow who was running up for a too-good-to-be-true backlance.

Do just the animations lag or is there genuine lag between a kill shot hitting and a kill shot registering with the server?

For once we're in agreement. If you're paying any amount of attention to the enemy base before you try getting in odds are nobody will ever really notice the one dude without the big red "SHOOT HIS ASS" triangle. Extra asshole on top raping tip: Steal their repair pack on the way out.

That's almost exactly what I thought the first time I actually noticed that a disc went straight forwards and ~40?ish meters out just went YOINK and pulled 45 degrees to the left.

Using your entire upload bandwidth slows everything including the upload itself down.

Eh, i think that sort of thing kinda goes against the point of tribes that your class (within your armor type) is determined by your loadout. I'd rather just see the targetting laser modified to have special effects based on what your pack is, so you could put out a red laser to (slowly) heal/repair+power something…

It's not so much the impossibility as it is that you shoot something while strafing and it goes straight forward like you'd expect then at some point jumps to the left like it just realised "Oh hey I should actually be going at THIS angle".

Then they'll live through their life without having semi-crippled their hand with 3rd degree burns requiring hospitalization and possibly surgery while still knowing not to touch things that are hot because it fucking HURTS.

That would be a little overpowerful since that would then negate ANY pack, and setting it to a percentage chance of occuring would just make it useless. I doubt we'd percieve the lasers, the vast majority of lasers are FAR beyond our visual range. That's why it's dangerous to look at an eclipse, visibly the sun is so dim your pupil dilates but it's still putting out MASSIVE amounts of IR and UV radiation that cooks you to blindness just as fast as it ever would.

Don't they do that by basically permanently focussing one eye far away and one eye up close? That'd probably kill your ability to focus on multiple distances at once and be a total waste if your vision is already perfect or better up close but you're just nearsighted.
