On the bomber, just like ColonelFatso said, you just have to switch weapons to the bombs. Voting is also as he said, in the esc screen, you look at the top right hand corner to see the voting options. To vote to kick (or mute on some admin mods) someone, you find their name in the list on the left side, and right click…

Not what I meant... not at all.
-
Ah, wasn't aware. Don't really play construction. Excuse my assumption of your ignorance. And excuse my ignorance as well. :-X
-
I just see two opposite ends of the same spectrum.

No. Even if they understood the code completely, inside and out, and could write it from scratch in binary, they are completely incapable of removing the ban. I'm not sure who hosts the master server, maybe the Tribes Next guys, but that's irrelevant. The server you were playing on does not belong to them at all.
-
Depends on the person that owns the server. If you're banned because the guy felt like being a douchebag, you don't have much in the means of recourse. It's his server, he can do what he wants with it. Wanna get back at him? Create an awesomesauce mod, don't host the files for download, and ban him from your server too.…

Ow... Someone got some acetaminophen handy?

Well, admittedly, repair duty's pretty awesome on some maps. I enjoy it on rollercoaster. Most of the time I just do it when I'm playing, and my son is being overly energetic. If I stop repairing constantly to go chase my son down, I know that some other player will pick up the slack. On the other hand, if I'm in a shrike…

A great way to be of assistance to your team, while also learning about the various assets and the layout of your base, is to grab a repair pack and run around your base looking for things to repair. It's not always the most exciting job, repair duty, but it's a very important one. Being aware of the layout of your base is…

Ever tried to do this to a bomber that's on the ceiling of circle of stones? I think it's even too high to hit with a disc, but I don't know for sure. It's definitely way too high to reach a bomber with a shocklance. As I said, on some maps, it is literally impossible. IIRC, circle of stones is one of them.

Ahh, the path to becoming a master Tribes player is long and full of dangers young cockroach. You must be willing to forsake the sins of the flesh, such as women and sunlight. Your journey will be full of hotpockets, Mountain Dew, and you will regularly watch the sun rise in the morning through bloodshot eyes... If you are…

I noticed that! I love the satchel. Don't know why people frown on it so much. In fact, I think I've blasted you all over the v-pad once... ;D

The problem with high altitude bombing, is that with a small amount of coordination, two players can literally make it impossible for the opposing team to get a vehicle out at all. It's a form of griefing. I have, and will take down my own team's bomber if they're doing this. It's borderline cheating.

Fair enough. I probably blame classic more than I should, mainly because it's release made finding base servers a pain in the ass. A few of the servers I played on regularly had switched over to classic, and the varient servers dropped off pretty quickly due to lack of players. I honestly believe the sudden popularity of…

It's called sarcasm. I understand that. What's wrong with more intensive gameplay? His point is that this is simply bad, my point is that his is an opinion, and some people have a different opinion. Fair enough. I won't bring it up again. The competetive part of the community has always been much more vocal. The more…

So, in other words, when the maps favor offense, it's more balanced? On slapdash, you only need one capper, but you need several people defending. That's unbalanced in favor of the offense. That's not a bad thing, it simply means that the teams need to focus more on defense. The reason behind this, is because classic…
-
Really? I'd love to see such objective measurements. I can assure you, I have every idea what my own personal opinion is, so I know exactly what I'm talking about. My point is that not everyone agrees with you.
-
Not a fan of Archipelago... Great vehicle centric map where skiing is definitely not the focus. Capping is difficult to pull off alone, and involves teamwork. or effort. So, in other words, maps that cater to a strong defense are "bad". ::)
-
I'll have to hunt down some of the older maps I used to play. Raunchen Verboten was pretty awesome, especially as a vehicle map, but suffers from the same issue the other maps do that classic players tend to hate when it comes to capping (you know, effort). Tribes2maps.com is still up (thanks to a wonderful community…

Part of the problem there is that the majority of classic players like to be able to snag the flag with little to no trouble. It's partially understandable since because of the faster gameplay and higher inertia of classic, the players are less agile and have more trouble changing direction in the air, but they could also…

Well, it's been that way since the patch that included classic mod. The patch changed something, maybe the added maps? I can't recall what the change was that caused BASE servers to default to variant. It's pretty much assumed among the veterans, however, that variant servers are base.
-
Better job, kid, responsibilities. Growing up in general.
-
Happens on occasion. Try refreshing a couple times, that usually solves the problem for me. If the server is experiencing a large amount of lag, it might not show on the list. It also crashes at times for a minute or two.
-
Smurfing is using an alternate name than the one you usually go with. In T2's case, you can create additional profiles other than your main one, those are smurfs.
-
Small suggestion, designate a few well spoken admins to help the newbies learn the gameplay mechanics. They'll have to be patient, and willing to stop playing and go observer to make sure that a new player gets their questions answered, or so they can watch the new player and toss in some tips. Also, if it's not already…

Well, that suggests that the shields aren't powerful enough in the regular game. And a heavy with a shield pack in your gen room in BASE Tribes 2 is bad enough. Now lets give that heavy replenishing energy while in an active shield pack, as well as beacon boosters to get across the map easily and quickly to the enemy base.…
-
Used to love me some mousemod as well, until I realized how stupidly overpowered the shield packs were in it. I continued playing, primarily because that's where everyone I knew was, but also because I got to be pretty damned good with concussion grenades, and I enjoyed figuring out how to cream all the guys that felt like…
-
There were some damned amazing maps that never saw the light of day made for T2. I remember a guy that made some TRON themed maps that were cool as hell, but I never saw a server run them. There seriously plenty of potential for some epic maps in Tribes 2, but that potential falls short because no one ever wants to have to…
-
Nice call, never even noticed that I missed those. As for the discs, I'll have to test that, I seem to remember doing it.

Looks like it's just starting. Maybe I'll lend a hand. I've never assisted with building a wiki in the past. It could be a new experience!
