Welcome, friends from across the pond! Back in the day, the German Community Tribes Video was one of my favorites :) mystic_1

In the game's stock configuration, if you're far enough away in the fag, and the enemy's sensor network can't see you, you're effectively invisible to them. Hover mouse pointer over sensors on the Commander screen to see detection ranges. I don't remember at what range IFFs become visible just from line-of-sight, but it's…

I was thinking about this topic just the other day. Having old skin packs is great, lots to choose from for personal choice, but what with the lack of auto-skin-download and the fact that so few people from the early days play, I think what you'll end up with is 4000 unused skins in that pack. Are you running in full screen mode? I have a Radeon and I've noticed weird graphics glitches when running full screen, nothing like you're seeing however. Switched to running in windowed mode the other day and it seems to have resolved the issues for me. Not really a fix, but perhaps a viable workaround. hth mystic_1

Sure, that makes sense, but doesn't address the problem if a valid script file that's just poorly coded or contains intentional badness. You'd want to prompt the user, I think, before simply downloading and installing things, and some means of easily rolling back would be a necessity. mystic_1

So, what's the consensus about malicious or malformed scripts etc? If a bad script gets auto-downloaded and auto-installed, might not your T2 install become auto-fubar'd? mystic_1

Hello to all. My name is mystic_1, I'm 38, a software developer by trade. I've been playing tribes since T1 was released, but T-V killed the magic for me. Used to have lots of LAN parties here at the house with my tribemates, and in 2002 I released a Tribes2 tribute video. I'm not l33t by any means, never got into matches,…
