Don't most script packs do this? I only run few select scripts so have no experience with script packs per se, but often see their results in various servers as players exult over their fallen opponents....

Hi Laggy! Does the fios modem/rooter not allow you to open ports or assign a dmz? Sorry I've no experience with verizon fios service, just their dsl modems. Wondered where you had gotten to by the way. Also, _never_ tell verizon you are hosting any kind of server.

Hi I would set my desktop res to 800x600 and try setting the game up again. Then after I have set my game res I would go and set my desktop back to the natural res of the monitor if lcd. If crt this should make little difference. Also, this may help you in your t2 game experience: [code]// #autoload // #name = cleanDSO //…

There are packet size and rate settings in the serverprefs.cs file in each server. They range from around 256 to 400 (data payload bytes) for packet size, and from 10 to 30 packets per second. One adjusts these according to the available bandwidth. T2 servers can play just fine at 10 packets per second and a payload size…

Hybrid, weapons and the physics their projectiles emulate is controlled at and by the server according to the ruleset - wich means mod; base, classic, ultra, etc. There are no clientside weapons or physics controls, other than muzzle transform (aiming), fire, and with what weapon. If you open up scripts.vl2 you will see…

So there you have it, right off of each games' box. Yes, I have each game in the box, I am that much of a freak. How many of you have even _seen_ a t1 box? We should make a Tribes museum of sorts. Anyway, this is just to compare your current or proposed game systems to what hardware level the game makers were writing…

let me guess ... mods written by qing?

If you like bots, the best are to be found in the scripts.vl2 from the "community release" update by the zods, the guys who made the classic mod. It has advanced bots and fixes to many issues in the game. To be honest, the credit for the advanced bots goes to Lagg, he fixed and added to the ai code making them truly worthy…

Hi If you are running a listen server, meaning you play and host the server at the same time in the same instance of the game, playing in a dedicated server would be far better for 32 bots. 32 is a lot of ai players for a server to process. A decent dedicated server may handle 32 just fine as it does not have to render the…

ill never forgive them for not fixing the deadstop bug

Hi! Lets take some time to review the processing and rendering requirements for T2, shall we? When T2 was written, most folks had less than 650MHz cpu, and a Nvidia TNT2 vid card, or even lower specs. They were lucky to have more than 128 megs of system ram. Also, most all were on dialup. So here we have the specs that…

as to the mortar "ladder", that depends upon the mod the ret was written for, each mod (base, classic, v2, ultra) has a different physics set for the mortar, so the ret may work ok but not be spot on in all servers
-
brings to mind the glitch i saw carrying a flag once, was in the crouch position as like unto when riding the gravbike, yet skiing along i chalked it up to having set the priority for t2 to realtime or high, always a bad idea, and if you play thusly you shall find out for yourself above normal pri is all one needs for t2
-
Hi Is there anything else running when t2 is running?
-
Also, read the faq.
-
Hi Is this a dedicated or listen server?
-
what scripts are you running, if any? what is different from your dads t2 install and yours?
-

When only faves show up in the server list, it means that the master server is offline or you cannot reach it on the net due to some issue on the net itself. Once you lose the favorite your client no longer remembers what ip to try for a live server without help from a master server. Dsos will not have much to do with…
