• By HALO bombing I think he means high-altitude bombing; that's when you park your bomber so high above the enemy vpad that they can't reach it, then just keep dropping a bomb every few seconds. On some maps there is no realistic way to stop this tactic until the bombers get bored.

• I can confirm that ticking the "save password" box does nothing. Vista 64-bit, game is properly installed in C:\Games\Tribes2, not running the game as administrator.

• As a temporary fix, you can disable the error message so you will never get the popup. Extract ChatGui.cs from scripts.vl2 and change the line IRCClient::notify(IDIRC_ERR_TIMEOUT); to // IRCClient::notify(IDIRC_ERR_TIMEOUT); Copy the new ChatGui.cs to GameData/base/scripts and delete GameData/base/scripts/ChatGui.cs.dso.
