  • :p I had tested it on a CTF server before. The enemy had an HoF, and I kept shooting at the enemy flag, scooting closer until I hit.
  • That's what I wanted to know. Interestingly enough, on my current computer, I haven't UE'd a single time. Can alt-tab outta T2, switch to windowed mode during the game, and even running duel core. Pretty cool. My primary gripe is the object limit.
  • The laser rifle's maximum range is 1000 meters. It's impossible to shoot further than that without a modded server. And it definitely IS possible to hit a headshot from over 900 meters away without cheating. It's a lucky shot, but it's possible.
  • It's looking pretty hopeless... As in it may not exist anymore. If I remember correctly, it was posted on planettribes forums by the guy that created it about six years ago. Unfortunately, those forums don't go further back than july of 2005. If I knew the name of the pack, that might help. I'm asking in a couple other…
  • cel* And cel shading is awesome. Wind Waker was easily one of the most beautiful games on the Gamecube. I love my Celda.
  • Tribes 2 runs on an older version of torque... A newer version would be an upgrade, unless I'm missing something?
  • Bastard, and here I was all excited that someone knew what I was talking about, or had seen it somewhere! I'm going to do some digging when I get on lunch break.
  • The events are usually up at prime time, after work and school, when everyone is home. It increases the number of players that will be showing up, generally speaking. What are you looking to do? If you want a GTW event, there's a GTW server up 24/7, you could organize one yourself just as easily as we can. We could…
  • I'd actually love to see some co-op missions with scripted events.

  • Heh, try out mousemod. The shields in that are kinda ridiculous. They don't drain energy while in use, only when getting shot. On the up side, you learn how to take down shielders really well. Still, a fun mod.. The server owner is a cool guy, the old player base was fairly nice.
  • Download fraps, use it during the demo.
  • I'll try to make it again. A friend of mine plays WoW, and may or may not have runs that night. I let them use my PC.
  • The 1.52 version a server side hotfix? Or do clients need to download it as well?
  • If TD is on, the mortar turret barrel is generally a terrible idea. There's a few exceptions of course. A decent player can easily use the enemy's mortar turret to their own advantage. If the turret is away from where the team's traffic will be, then it's okay, but it's also easily avoided... still can nail a straggler…
  • Some of your momentum.. If you're falling fast enough, and you shoot down, you'll actually outrun your projectile.
  • No, plasma does not ignore shields.. The fact that it has a decent rate of fire, and a small splash, means it's great for eating through shields.
  • It's going to happen. But yeah, you're right. We'll just post it in the general section instead of attempting a little organization.
  • We're all gamers here, can we get a forum dedicated to non Tribes 2 games? Maybe with a "free games" subforum? There's some quality freeware indie stuff out there, and I've got quite a list. I've noticed a couple Penny-Arcade guys over here too, I'm sure they'd be happy to contribute.
  • Case closed because Smash Brothers was/is more popular than Tribes 2, and CS was more popular than both? correlation =/= causation Cute though. "What the hell is Smash?" I guess it's possible that you didn't realize what he was talking about. Was pretty obvious to me.
  • Wall of RAGE! Nothing wrong with the competition, as long as it stays competition. If you want to play to practice, find a decent practice server, host one, get a pick-up practice, whatever. The pub servers shouldn't face the same rules as competitive servers do, and they usually don't for good reason. Your average player…
