Considering the heated discussions and borderline flaming that go on about the various mods and maps in Tribes 2, I think a section should be made specifically for that. If things start getting out of hand in some of the other threads on the forums, a mod should simply close the thread. Let's avoid flamewars. Locking…

I think the old script directed the downloader to tribes2maps.com.
-
There was some form of autodownloader implemented later in T2's life. I seem to remember there being issues with it though. I'm all for some of the client-side maps seeing the light of day. There was some awesome stuff made.

Played many a round where the enemy team was completely owning ours, gens down, killing us all the time... But they still lost because they were too interested in padding their score. We just capped out instead of trying to reclaim our base. When you've got 20 enemies walking around your base in juggy armor, dropping…

Regarding the shield packs: The primary problem I saw with them was that a few heavies with shield packs could easily hold a gen room for an entire match. I think players should spawn with something that's extremely effective at taking out shielders. I think a special blaster would do the trick, slightly faster rate of…

I'm totally up for it, but I'm on call at #1 work. Might not be able to make it. Already downloaded, installed, and tested GTW. Ready to play.
-
You can lock onto the laser target with a missile.

Inventory stations and turret barrels seem to add weight. Discovered this on a map with an added jump pad, didn't go quite as far with an inventory station so I tested it with other packs, only other ones were the turret barrels. Nothing else made any difference as far as I could tell.
-
I only got to play it once or twice back then. Loved it, then it died. If any mod should be packaged along with the next patch, GTW would be it.

The OP asked about mods and gametypes.

How so? I've tried to explain the difference as best as I could without being bias. It's obvious that I enjoy BASE more, since I've said so myself. Okay, leave it at my original post then.
-
Mmhmm. Think about what you posted, think about some of your earlier posts. I prefer BASE, and I show an obvious bias in favor of BASE. My opinions will be based off of that bias. Also, you're agreeing that I'm liberal, which is synonymous with "open-minded". Think about it.
-
How so? I don't expect anyone to take my word for anything. I've clearly stated numerous times that what I'm posting is my own opinion. I do find it adorable how you're making yourself out to be Kryand's personal sidekick though.

Be really fun to add in the name of every player killed, the server you killed them on, and the date and time of each kill.
-
Maybe... I just know better than to take someone's word on something, especially over the internet. I'm going from what I've perceived as reality in the game, and you what you've supposedly perceived. You say it only takes one defender on a BASE server to defend the flag. I've never seen that work.
-
And I've single handedly capped out on slapdash when I was facing a heavy with an MPB, his turrets, and a tank. Cool, you're good at sniping, and you've had different experiences from me. I've found that taking down a sniper to get to a flag isn't all that hard.
-
LakRabbit is a modified form of the Rabbit gametype (duh). If you've never played Rabbit, it's pretty straight forward... In Rabbit, there's a single flag. The player with the flag is an enemy to everyone without it, and vice versa. The longer you hold the flag, the more points you get. Whoever has the most points when the…

Haven't played much base, have you? Just like in classic, it depends on the map.
-
Played T2 since 2001. Logged more hours of my life into this game than any other. Still great memories. I just hope to be able to experience some of those great moments again.
-
I'm more interested in the kill count tracker for personal use. Who cares how many MA's I nailed with a spinfusor, or how distant the shot was besides me? I want the stats to be legit for myself. Also, it's very possible for a T2 player to have a fantastic kill ratio, but still be a terrible Tribes CTF player.
-
I've played hunters in the past. It's a good replacement for deathmatch when you're running a small server. Quite a bit of fun.
-
I'm done arguing with you. I have my opinion, you yours.
-
There's a few ways that would make it more difficult to hack, but it's more intensive than it's really worth.
-
Exactly, and there's nothing wrong with that. The focus of BASE is more on team work in general, while the focus of classic is more on solo roles as a part of a team.
-
You misunderstand me. Classic involves less team mates coordinating to get something done, while BASE requires more. A single heavy in classic can easily get across the map into the enemy base to attack it. In BASE, that same heavy will easily get taken out on his trip to the enemy. I'm not referring to the quality of the…

yo yo your both nubz im teh best xXsNiPeRxX lol evry1 knows ultraxl mod is best sniper
-
Classic is the most common mod played nowadays. Classic is fairly similar to vanilla T2, with more of an emphasis on quicker gameplay that favors smaller player counts and less team coordination. The change in physics increases infantry inertia, but leaves the vehicle physics completely untouched. This makes the infantry…

The larger, more populated servers don't usually require any downloads. As for everything else, it's sort of a shot in the dark.
